The oil and emulsion mist, which develop during the manufacturing processes, are extracted via a central AFS purifying system. The plant consists of eleven AFS units, each with a suction volume of 16,000 cubic meters of air per hour. This results in a total extraction volume flow of 176,000 cubic meters per hour. The plant extracts the polluted air out of more than 100 machine tools. Four central suction pipes, each with a total lenght of about 70 meters, transport the with oil mist contaminated exhaust air to the AFS units.
The air purification system at SWG Schraubenwerk Gaisbach is one of the biggest Projects that AFS has implemented so far. Planning, project management, installation and commissioning were completely in the hands of AFS. The system was designed so that additional machines can be easily integrated at any time.
By installing the AFS purifying system, the permanent misting of the production hall could be completely eliminated. Since commissioning in 2007, the plant is in compliance with the emissions and immissions limits imposed by law, as well as with the maximum admissible concentration for coolant lubricants for breathable air on the job.
The workers in the production hall are happy to breathe clean air. All those who work daily in multiple-shift in the hall do benefit from the good, clean air. The SWG Schraubenwerk Gaisbach GmbH is completely satisfied with their AFS purifying system.
